Hana Financial Group announced on November 1 that it received a plaque of appreciation from the Sisters of Charit? Saint Paul at its Myeongdong headquarters on October 31, in recognition of its support for vulnerable elderly people.
Since 2017, for eight consecutive years, Hana Financial Group has provided various supplies-including electric beds, anti-fall mattresses, wheelchairs, welfare equipment, and agricultural products-to Saint Paul Nursing Home, a senior welfare facility operated by the Sisters of Charit? Saint Paul for elderly individuals in need of care due to dementia and other age-related illnesses.
In addition, the company has offered comprehensive support to ensure that vulnerable seniors can enjoy a healthy and safe later life by not only installing heating and cooling systems at the nursing home, but also carrying out overall facility renovations such as indoor flooring work and wooden screens.
Ham Youngjoo, Chairman of Hana Financial Group, stated, "It is an honor to receive a plaque of appreciation from the Sisters of Charit? Saint Paul, who have practiced love and sharing for the marginalized for over 130 years," adding, "Hana Financial Group will continue to provide practical support to help create an inclusive society where vulnerable seniors are respected as members of society and can live vibrant lives."
Meanwhile, Hana Financial Group is carrying out various initiatives for the senior generation, including "Hana Power On Second Life," a program supporting reemployment and entrepreneurship for seniors and mid-career professionals; the opening of a meal box production facility to create jobs for seniors and provide meal care for vulnerable groups; the provision of lightweight handcarts and safety kits for elderly waste paper collectors; and digital financial education projects for seniors.
The Sisters of Charit? Saint Paul, which first arrived in Korea in 1888, is the country's oldest religious order. In addition to missionary work, they operate a comprehensive child welfare center for orphans and children with disabilities, shelters for elderly people without family, and residential facilities for people with disabilities, carrying out a wide range of social welfare activities for vulnerable groups.
