Gyeongsan City Hosts "Korea's Hanwoo Eating Day" Event for Three Days

Hanwoo Consumption Promotion Event for Urban-Rural Coexistence

In 2025, Korea's Hanwoo Eating Day event is being held for three days from October 31 to November 2 at the Onmaru Square of Gyeongsan Indoor Gymnasium. The event is hosted by the Hanwoo Board and organized by the Daegu-Gyeongbuk Branch of the National Hanwoo Association.

This event features participation from the Gyeongsan Livestock Cooperative, Cheongdo Livestock Cooperative, and Uiseong Livestock Cooperative, and includes Hanwoo beef discount sales and tasting events.

The event was planned to promote the excellence of carefully raised local Hanwoo beef and to boost consumption by selling Hanwoo produced in North Gyeongsang Province at prices lower than the market rate, thereby supporting Hanwoo farmers struggling with sluggish demand.

The event is held annually across the country, with November 1 designated as Hanwoo Day to symbolize that Hanwoo is the best, as the number "1" appears three times in the date.

This year's event offers high-quality and delicious Hanwoo beef from North Gyeongsang Province at discounts ranging from 20% to 50%. It also features free Hanwoo bulgogi tastings, various busking performances, event games, and a wide array of food and entertainment options.

Lee Woncheon, head of the Gyeongsan City Branch of the Hanwoo Association, stated, "Through this event, we have a meaningful opportunity to rediscover the precious value of our rural communities and seek ways for cities and rural areas to prosper together. I hope this will continue to be an opportunity for mutual respect and cooperation between urban and rural communities."

A Gyeongsan City official expressed hope that the Hanwoo Eating Day event in Korea would serve as a meaningful opportunity to highlight the value of rural communities and help alleviate the difficulties faced by Hanwoo farmers.
