Rubin Launch Next Year Reaffirmed... Transition to HBM4
Jensen Huang, CEO of NVIDIA, praised both Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix as the world's top companies for manufacturing graphics processing units (GPUs). He stated, "We do not need to choose just one, as we are successfully collaborating with both companies," emphasizing, "We need all of them."
CEO Jensen Huang made these remarks during a press conference held at the Wonhwa Hall of the Gyeongju Arts Center on the afternoon of the 31st. He said, "Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix are among the world's leading companies," and assessed, "Both possess outstanding technological capabilities." He further explained, "One is highly specialized, while the other is more diversified." The former refers to SK Hynix, which excels in high bandwidth memory (HBM), and the latter to Samsung Electronics.

He also revealed plans to continue expanding partnerships with both Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix. CEO Huang said, "There are advantages to a focused strategy and also to diversity, but since NVIDIA collaborates with both companies, there is no need to choose. For NVIDIA to grow, we need all Korean companies."
He also reaffirmed the mass production plans for the new artificial intelligence (AI) accelerator "Rubin" and called for continued cooperation from Korean companies. CEO Huang stated, "We will launch Rubin as scheduled in the second half of next year. We have secured the silicon and the systems are well prepared. Production preparations are proceeding smoothly." Although the mainstream HBM market currently centers on 5th-generation HBM3E products, it is expected that the trend will shift as NVIDIA equips Rubin with HBM4 starting next year.
CEO Huang said, "Next year's business scale will reach hundreds of billions of dollars," and added, "To support NVIDIA's business next year, Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix must maximize their capabilities and continue to grow."
