According to China's Xinhua News Agency, President Xi held a summit meeting with Prime Minister Takaichi on the sidelines of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Summit in Gyeongju on this day, stating, "China will work with Japan to build a constructive and stable bilateral relationship that meets the demands of the new era."

Xinhua News Agency also reported that President Xi said, "China will maintain communication with Japan to ensure that China-Japan relations stay on the right track."
