According to the city, the event was organized to widely promote the excellence of Jeonbuk Province's agricultural and special products, to provide them to urban consumers at reasonable prices, and to expand distribution channels and boost consumption.
The event was hosted by the Jeonbuk Provincial Association of the Korea Advanced Farmers Federation and held at the Seoul Southwest Agricultural Cooperative. Fourteen cities and counties from Jeonbuk Province participated, showcasing their representative agricultural and specialty products from each region.
The city introduced high-quality local agricultural and specialty products such as rice, bokbunja wine, oats, and mixed grains, which attracted significant interest from urban residents. In particular, during the "Jeongeup City Day" event held on the 30th, both former residents and producers participated together to promote the excellence of Jeongeup's agricultural and specialty products, highlighting the city's appeal to many people.
During this event, the city distributed promotional agricultural and specialty products and engaged directly with consumers, making it a meaningful occasion. The rice cake sharing event, in particular, received an especially strong response from urban residents.
A city official stated, "Through this event, we have established an important foundation for mutual growth between rural and urban areas by promoting the consumption of Jeongeup's agricultural and specialty products and fostering exchanges with urban residents. We will continue to work harder to increase local farmers' income and expand sales channels for Jeongeup's agricultural and specialty products."
