This award is presented to airlines that demonstrate outstanding strategy and leadership during the year and make significant contributions to the development of the aviation industry in Asia. The judging panel selected Korean Air as the recipient in recognition of the company's comprehensive capabilities shown during the acquisition of Asiana Airlines and its efforts in formulating detailed strategies following the merger.
The panel highly praised Korean Air's ability to carry out the integration process of the two companies in a clear and systematic manner, and anticipated that the launch of the global "megacarrier" resulting from this merger would ultimately reshape the competitive landscape of the Asian airline industry. Additionally, Korean Air received positive evaluations for its branding strategy, in-flight services, route planning, IT systems, and other changes implemented across all areas of the company.
A Korean Air representative stated, "This recognition from the global aviation industry acknowledges the company-wide efforts and capabilities we have demonstrated at this critical juncture for the future. We will focus on achieving a successful integration, setting new standards for customer experience, and building a world-class global airline by strengthening our airline network."
