In his opening remarks, Mayor Shin stated, "Seongnam is facing significant impacts on maintenance projects due to various regulations, including designation as a regulated area, speculative overheating zone, and the land transaction permit system," adding, "I organized this session to listen directly to the questions of residents in the pilot district and to explain important matters that they need to know."
Mayor Shin also said, "Although the central government has announced plans to expand the volume of reconstruction projects for first-generation new towns, Bundang has been excluded, and even the rollover of project quotas for the pilot district has been prohibited, making it likely that the project will face setbacks." He continued, "To improve these unreasonable regulations, I am clarifying our position through press conferences, while also maintaining ongoing discussions with the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport at the working level."
He further emphasized, "Despite various constraints, we are actively promoting the pilot district project with the goal of designating the zone within this year. We will reduce the burden on residents and accelerate the project to actively support a smooth reconstruction process in Bundang."
The briefing covered topics such as the relaxation of evaluation criteria for the pilot district and the schedule for zone designation within the year; city support measures (including the operation of the Bundang Reconstruction Support Center and the establishment of a special maintenance project account); and the impact of the October 15 real estate measures on maintenance projects. There was also a session for collecting suggestions and opinions from residents by complex.
Seongnam City plans to hold additional residents' briefing sessions by district in the conference room of the Bundang District Office as follows: the second session on November 7 at 3:00 p.m. (Seohyeon, Sunae, Bundang, Jeongja), the third session on November 10 at 3:00 p.m. (Gumi, Geumgok), and the fourth session on November 17 at 4:30 p.m. (Yatap, Imae).
