According to China's state-run Xinhua News Agency, President Xi stated at the US-China summit held at Naraemaru, the Air Force Base at Gimhae Airport in Busan, that "(The United States and China) must not fall into a vicious cycle of mutual retaliation." He added, "We can continue dialogue and steadily reduce the list of issues based on the principles of equality, respect, and mutual benefit." Xi went on to say, "For the past 70 years, China has neither challenged nor sought to replace anyone, instead focusing on managing its own affairs well and sharing development opportunities with countries around the world."
In addition, President Xi stressed that the two countries should strengthen dialogue and exchanges in areas such as combating illegal immigration and telecom fraud, anti-money laundering, as well as cooperation on artificial intelligence (AI) and pandemic response, in order to pursue mutually beneficial cooperation.
Xinhua News Agency reported that the United States and China agreed to maintain regular exchanges, and that President Trump is expected to visit China in early 2026, with an invitation extended to President Xi to visit the United States thereafter.
