This meeting was organized to strengthen the cooperation system between the provincial government and local National Assembly members, coinciding with the full-scale parliamentary review of the 2026 government budget proposal. Governor Kim, along with aides from the local constituencies, attended to engage in practical discussions focused on strategies for securing budget allocations.

During the meeting, the province discussed ways to secure additional national funding for 24 projects (totaling 61.2 billion won) that were not included in the government budget proposal, building on the achievement of surpassing 10 trillion won in national funding for the first time this year. The province requested active cooperation from the National Assembly to ensure these projects are included during the parliamentary review process.

In addition, there were extensive discussions on key SOC (Social Overhead Capital) issues in Gangwon, including: the passage of preliminary feasibility studies for the Yongmun-Hongcheon metropolitan railway, the Samcheok-Gangneung high-speed railway, and the Pocheon-Cheorwon expressway; securing national funding for the construction of the Soyang 8th Bridge; and maximizing the inclusion of Gangwon projects in the 5th National Railway Network Construction Plan and the 6th National Road and Local Road Construction Plan.

National Assemblyman Han Kiho (Chuncheon-Cheorwon-Hwacheon-Yanggu-eul, Gangwon) stated, "We are in a period akin to a survival competition. If the ruling and opposition parties join forces, we can fully achieve our intended goals. I ask for your active support so that Gangwon’s key projects can receive increased funding in each standing committee."

Governor Jin Tae Kim emphasized, "We have entered an era of over 10 trillion won in national funding for the first time in history, but this is just the beginning of our efforts to maintain this achievement. Now it is the National Assembly’s turn." He also requested, "I urge the National Assembly to actively cooperate so that the third amendment to the Gangwon Special Act is not delayed any further."
