"Strengthening Customized Career Education"... Busan Students with Disabilities Win 2 Gold Medals at National Vocational Skills Competition

A Total of 14 Awards Won at the National Competition Organized by the Busan Metropolitan Office of Education

The Busan Metropolitan Office of Education (Superintendent Kim Seokjun) announced on the 30th that students from the Busan region won a total of 14 awards-including 2 gold, 2 silver, 8 bronze, and 2 encouragement prizes-at the 2025 National Vocational Skills Competition for Students with Disabilities, held over two days from the 30th of last month at the Busan Port International Exhibition & Convention Center (BPEX).


This nationwide event, hosted by the Ministry of Education and organized by the Busan Metropolitan Office of Education, saw representatives from 17 metropolitan and provincial offices of education across the country compete fiercely in a variety of vocational skill categories.


The Busan delegation demonstrated outstanding abilities, with Choi Yewon from Busan Baehwa School winning gold in the barista category for students with hearing impairments, and Hwang Sihu from Busan School for the Blind winning gold in the word processor (total blindness) category for students with visual impairments.


In addition, 2 students won silver, 8 students won bronze, and 2 students received encouragement prizes, achieving balanced results across all categories.


Superintendent Kim Seokjun stated, "The achievements of Busan students at this competition are the result of each student's perseverance and the dedication of their teachers," adding, "We will strengthen customized career and vocational education support so that students with disabilities can fully realize their talents and potential."
