Suwon City in Gyeonggi Province has established a "Comprehensive Winter Road Snow Removal Plan" that includes measures to prevent accidents caused by road icing.
Suwon City first addressed shortcomings identified during last winter's heavy snowfall response, and strengthened its response system by revising the snow removal manual to reflect updated standards for personnel and equipment deployment.
Additionally, to ensure a swift response during emergency snow removal operations, the city has secured 12 forward bases and installed additional automatic brine spraying devices and heating systems, enabling immediate action when snow first begins to fall.

The city has secured a sufficient number of snow removal vehicles, spreaders, and de-icing agents, and plans to implement a phased emergency work system based on the amount of snowfall.
Suwon City will maintain a cooperative system with neighboring local governments and strengthen collaboration with related agencies such as Suwon Urban Corporation, military units, fire stations, and police stations to respond efficiently in the event of heavy snowfall.
Next month, Suwon City will conduct a joint on-site snow removal drill led by Mayor Lee Jaejun, checking the readiness of its on-site response system in preparation for actual snowfall situations.
Kim Hyunsoo, First Deputy Mayor of Suwon City, stated, "We will respond quickly to minimize inconvenience to citizens during heavy snowfall by ensuring sufficient snow removal equipment and materials," adding, "We will do our utmost to create a safe and pleasant road environment."
