Saemaul Geumgo Foundation to Provide 400 Million Won in Support for Vulnerable Community Facilities Nationwide

Customized Support for 80 Community Facilities Nationwide

The Saemaul Geumgo Community Hope Sharing Foundation announced that it will implement the “Local Community Revitalization Support Project” to expand community culture within the region and promote mutual growth and solidarity in local society.

This project is a social contribution initiative that the Saemaul Geumgo Foundation has continuously pursued to strengthen the weakened foundation of local communities caused by various social issues such as the recent economic downturn, population outflow, and social isolation. It also aims to address difficulties in operating and utilizing community facilities due to aging infrastructure and a lack of convenience facilities.

In particular, Saemaul Geumgo expects that, in addition to putting into practice its spirit of mutual aid, supporting community facilities so they can continue their activities smoothly will enhance the self-reliance of communities, strengthen cooperation and communication among residents and neighbors, and foster a culture of mutual cooperation and participation within the region.

The facilities selected for this round of support include a wide range of community venues such as senior centers, orphanages, welfare centers, non-profit organizations, social economy organizations (cooperatives), child centers (family centers), and daycare centers. The selected facilities will receive customized items necessary for revitalization, including TVs, refrigerators, air conditioners, laptops, and tablets, to improve their spaces, environments, and work. This year, the foundation plans to support 80 locations nationwide.

A representative of the Saemaul Geumgo Foundation stated, “The core goal of local community revitalization is to build networks that enable diverse communities in the region to grow independently and unite with one another. We hope that the foundation’s support will serve as a starting point for solving local social issues and restoring communities, leading to an increase in community facilities that deliver sharing and happiness.”

Kim In, Chairman of the Saemaul Geumgo Foundation, said, “The purpose of local community revitalization is to help local residents gather together in a more comfortable environment, share their daily lives, and support one another. By providing various items to community facilities, we will strive to ensure that necessary activities can continue stably and to lay the groundwork for local society to achieve ongoing growth and change.”
