President Donald Trump visited Gyeongju, Gyeongsangbuk-do Province, on the 29th to attend events such as the Korea-U.S. summit and the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) CEO Summit. On this day, President Trump drew attention by using both the official U.S. presidential helicopter, Marine One, and the presidential limousine, The Beast.

Marine One is the call sign for aircraft operated by the U.S. Marine Corps. Just as the aircraft President Trump boarded to travel from Japan to Gimhae International Airport was designated as Air Force One, the helicopter used for short-distance travel by the U.S. president is referred to as Marine One. This helicopter has frequently appeared as the presidential aircraft in movies and television dramas.

The Marine One helicopter used by President Trump is a new model introduced last year, capable of reaching a top speed of 270 kilometers per hour and flying up to 800 kilometers. It is based on the S-92 helicopter developed by the American aerospace manufacturer Sikorsky.

As an aircraft used by the president, it is equipped with a wide array of state-of-the-art protective equipment. Marine One is fitted with flares to counter missiles, an electronic warfare system to disrupt enemy radar, and devices to protect against electromagnetic pulse (EMP) attacks resulting from nuclear explosions. In addition, to prevent outsiders from identifying which helicopter the president is on, three helicopters of the same model always fly in formation simultaneously.

Meanwhile, immediately upon arriving in Gyeongju, President Trump used his official limousine to attend the CEO Summit. This limousine is nicknamed "The Beast." The interior of The Beast, a large Cadillac vehicle, is equipped with various security features, though details remain classified. However, it is known that the doors are over 20 centimeters thick, the windows are bulletproof, and the vehicle is equipped with a sealed system and oxygen supply to protect against chemical, biological, or radiological attacks.
