Met with Intel Executives in Gyeongju
Discussed Supplying Smart Factory Solutions
Full-Fledged Collaboration with Intel Since Last Year

Jo Ju-wan, CEO of LG Electronics, met with senior executives from Intel in Gyeongju, where the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Summit is being held. It is believed that they discussed the supply of smart factory solutions to Intel's plants, which is part of LG Electronics' business-to-business (B2B) initiatives.

According to industry sources on the 29th, CEO Jo met with senior Intel executives, including Greg Ernst, Executive Vice President and Chief Revenue Officer (CRO), at a location in Gyeongju, North Gyeongsang Province, on this day. The meeting reportedly covered collaboration on smart factory solutions and cooperation in the artificial intelligence (AI) PC business, including products such as LG Gram.

LG Electronics began full-fledged discussions on smart factory collaboration with Intel last year. In July of last year, executives from LG Electronics’ smart factory business division visited Intel’s semiconductor plant in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, and proposed smart factory solutions aimed at improving semiconductor chipset production yields. This time, collaboration discussions appear to have advanced to the highest executive level.

The smart factory business, led by the LG Electronics Manufacturing Technology Institute, has accelerated commercialization this year by positioning the supply of solutions to semiconductor plants as a new growth driver.

Meanwhile, CEO Jo also met with Matt Garman, CEO of Amazon Web Services (AWS), on the same day to discuss supplying heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) solutions for next-generation AI data centers.
