"Becoming an Engineering Think Tank for Innovative Korea"
Over 500 Participants from Industry, Academia, Research, and Government Attend

Yoon Eejun, President of the National Academy of Engineering of Korea, announced a new vision for the next 100 years on the occasion of the Academy's 30th anniversary on October 29.
The National Academy of Engineering of Korea, the most prestigious organization in the field of engineering technology in Korea, held its 30th anniversary celebration on the 29th at the Grand Intercontinental Seoul Parnas in Samseong-dong, Seoul. On this day, the National Academy of Engineering of Korea held its "30th Anniversary Celebration" at the Grand Intercontinental Seoul Parnas in Samseong-dong, Seoul, under the theme "Engineering Think Tank for Innovative Korea." The event was attended by about 500 participants from industry, academia, research, and government.
During the ceremony, President Yoon stated, "For the past 30 years, the National Academy of Engineering of Korea has led technological innovation and industrial competitiveness in Korea. Now, beyond the 'thirty years of establishment,' we will move past simple policy recommendations and become an engineering think tank and strategic public platform that brings about real change through collaboration among industry, academia, research, and government."
He further emphasized, "Engineering is not just knowledge; it is the power of action that solves problems and designs the future. With that power, we will shape the next 100 years of Korea together."
The ceremony was attended by President Yoon, Shin Hakcheol, Vice Chairman of LG Chem (Chairman of the Board), Koh Hanseung, President of Samsung Electronics, Ahn Hyun, President of SK Hynix, Jang Byungkyu, Chairman of Krafton, Seok Sangok, CEO of Naver Labs, Moon Sinhak, Vice Minister of the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, and other key figures from industry, academia, research, and government.
Through this vision declaration, the National Academy of Engineering of Korea announced its commitment to become an "engineering-based national strategic partner," aiming to solve national, social, industrial, and technological challenges, lead future competitiveness, and establish a virtuous cycle of innovation, all based on the policy, talent, and cultural platforms it has built over the past 30 years.
Cha Gukheon, Chairman of the 30th Anniversary Commemoration Project Preparation Committee, said, "We hope this event will serve as an opportunity for the Academy to grow into a stronger community and for our society to more widely share the value of engineering."
