Up to 3 Million Won in Support for 65 Injured Residents
Gwangmyeong City in Gyeonggi Province announced on October 29 that it will provide medical expense support to help alleviate the physical and psychological treatment burden for residents affected by the apartment fire in Soha-dong that occurred in July.
Through this support, the city will cover out-of-pocket expenses, including medical treatment fees and prescription costs paid by either the affected individual or members of the same household, up to a maximum of 3 million won.
The support is available to 65 residents who were transported to hospitals and treated by medical staff at the time of the fire. Medical expenses incurred from the date of the fire until the end of this month are eligible for reimbursement.
Eligible residents must apply in person at the Infectious Disease Management Division within the Infectious Disease Response Center at Gwangmyeong City Public Health Center by November 5.
Park Seungwon, Mayor of Gwangmyeong, stated, "We will spare no effort in providing the necessary support so that the fire victims can return to their daily lives."
Previously, on the night of July 17, a fire broke out on the first-floor piloti of an apartment building in Soha-dong, Gwangmyeong City, resulting in 7 deaths and injuries to 65 residents.
