The Young Materials Chemist Award is an academic honor established by the Materials Chemistry Division of the Korean Chemical Society. It is presented to materials chemists under the age of 45 who have achieved outstanding research accomplishments, with the aim of discovering and encouraging young researchers and boosting their motivation for research.
Professor Choi has distinguished herself in the design and synthesis of nanomaterials and their diverse applications. In particular, she was recognized for her original approach to controlling the catalytic activation of nanozymes for use in sensors and environmental remediation, as well as her contributions to medical and separation technologies through the precise control of magnetic nanoparticles, which led to her being selected as an award recipient.
Professor Choi expressed her gratitude by stating, "I will continue to pursue in-depth research to contribute to the advancement of science and technology in the field of chemistry, while also devoting myself to nurturing the next generation of scholars."
