The Korea Student Aid Foundation (Chairman Bae Byungil) and the KB Financial Public Interest Foundation (Chairman Yang Jonghee) signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) on October 29 to strengthen the employment capabilities of vocational high school students and provide job-matching opportunities.
This agreement was established to systematically support the growth and social advancement of talented vocational high school graduates by combining the public and private networks and resources held by both organizations.
The Korea Student Aid Foundation will utilize its nationwide network with vocational high schools and local education offices to recruit students for the employment support program and handle on-site school promotion and guidance. Meanwhile, the KB Financial Public Interest Foundation will operate the "KB Good Job Employment School" program, providing practical support such as employment-related education, consulting, mentoring, and job-matching for vocational high school students.
The "KB Good Job Employment School" program will run from November 2025 to May 2026, offering systematic programs for 120 third-year vocational high school students nationwide at the KB Cheonan Training Center and online, including employment and job competency training, job-matching consulting, and mentoring from current professionals.
The two organizations have agreed to share program outcomes through regular monitoring and feedback, and to continuously discuss improvement measures to enhance student satisfaction and employment rates.
Through this collaboration, vocational high school students are expected to gain greater access to employment education opportunities and to enter society more securely through job programs linked to their education. The partnership is also significant as it establishes a cooperative model between public institutions and the private sector to support talented young high school graduates.
Bae Byungil, Chairman of the Korea Student Aid Foundation, stated, "Our foundation is committed to helping students design their own career paths and advance into society through education," adding, "We will continue to expand models that organically connect education and employment." Yang Jonghee, Chairman of the KB Financial Public Interest Foundation, said, "The KB Good Job Employment School is a representative cooperative program in which the private and public sectors work together to provide practical support to vocational high school youth," and pledged, "We will continue to actively support vocational high school students so they can choose and grow in career paths that match their aptitudes and abilities."
Meanwhile, the Korea Student Aid Foundation is a quasi-governmental organization under the Ministry of Education, established in 2009 to provide professional and comprehensive financial aid so that anyone can have access to higher education regardless of economic circumstances. With an annual budget exceeding 11 trillion won, it operates a wide range of programs to foster future talent, including national scholarships, student loans, national excellence scholarships, work-study scholarships, donations, and mentoring.
Since 2020, the foundation has operated the Central Employment Support Center, established by the Ministry of Education to create growth pathways for high school graduates that reflect their aptitudes and abilities, and has been carrying out work to promote employment among high school graduates. In collaboration with 18 regional education office employment support centers, vocational high schools, and related organizations, the foundation continues to contribute to creating a nationwide environment for quality jobs and high school graduate recruitment.
