Kim Younggil of Gumi City Council Wins '2025 Local Autonomy Legislative Award'

Kim Younggil, a member of the Gumi City Council in North Gyeongsang Province, received the Grand Prize in the Legislative Award category at the '2025 Local Autonomy Legislative Awards Ceremony' held on the 28th at the National Assembly Members' Office Building Grand Conference Room. The event was hosted by the Korea Voters Central Association and organized by the Jeongmyeong Grand Prize Organizing Committee, recognizing exemplary legislative activities and contributions to regional development by local council members nationwide.

Kim Younggil was highly praised for his citizen-centered policy proposals and proactive legislative activities aimed at resolving local issues.

In particular, his leadership in revitalizing the local economy and improving community-focused administration, thereby contributing to the sustainable development of Gumi City, was cited as the main reason for his award.

The 'Local Autonomy Legislative Award' was established to encourage council members dedicated to the advancement of local councils and mature democratic governance, and to widely share exemplary cases of legislative activity. Each year, local council members from across the country are nominated as candidates for this award.

In his acceptance speech, Kim stated, "This award is not my personal honor, but the result achieved together with the citizens of Gumi. I will continue to listen to the voices of our citizens and respond with trustworthy legislative activities."
