Since joining the Uri Party in 2003, Lee has never left the party, walking a steadfast path with the Democratic Party for 22 years as an authentic, grassroots politician. She served as a member of the 7th and 8th Gurye County Councils (Vice Chairman of the 7th) and represented the voices of the residents on the ground. She is recognized as a politician who has shared both tears and laughter with the people, earning nicknames such as "problem solver" and "the eldest daughter-in-law of Gurye."
She has also held key party positions, including Chairwoman of the Women’s Committee of the Democratic Party’s Jeollanam-do Provincial Chapter, Secretary-General of the Democratic Party’s National Women’s Council, and Jeonnam Basic Representative, leading efforts to expand the base of women in politics and promote balanced regional political development.
In particular, she played a pivotal role in the National Assembly elections for candidates from the Uri Party and the Democratic Party (including candidates Woo Yoongeun and Kwon Hyangyeop), contributing to the party’s victories. She also served in major positions on the election campaign committees for presidential candidates Chung Dongyoung, Moon Jaein, and Lee Jaemyung from the 17th to the 21st presidential elections, dedicating herself to the party’s return to power.
Lee emphasized, "Real politics is about making policies in everyday life and finding answers together with the people on the ground. I will open the future of Gurye in the provincial assembly so that the time I have spent working for the party and for Gurye will not be in vain."
She further stressed, "I will support the success of the Lee Jaemyung administration from the local level and actively secure national and provincial funding in cooperation with Assemblywoman Kwon Hyangyeop. My goal is to make Gurye a place where seniors feel warmth, agriculture is strong, tourism is vibrant, and young people settle down-a truly livable Gurye."
Meanwhile, Lee has been recognized for her loyalty and dedication to the party, having received the Democratic Party’s highest-level award three times. Both inside and outside Gurye’s political circles, she is regarded as a "trusted female politician known for her consistency and sincerity."
