Seongnam City Establishes First
"Bundang Reconstruction Support Center" Among First-Generation New Towns
Resident Support Hub Set Up in Bundang District Office's General Civil Affairs Office
Seongnam City in Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Shin Sangjin) has established the "Bundang Reconstruction Support Center," the first of its kind among the first-generation new towns, to facilitate the redevelopment of aging planned urban areas. This center serves as a resident support hub for the redevelopment project, providing an integrated point of contact where residents can receive consultation on a wide range of inquiries and civil complaints related to the project.
The center is currently operating within the General Civil Affairs Office of Bundang District Office, focusing on supporting residents with key issues such as improving and supporting the redevelopment system for aging planned cities, researching and developing policy implementation plans, analyzing housing supply and relocation demand, and providing information and civil complaint consultations.
The city is reviewing various measures to establish a field-oriented administrative support system through the center, enabling it to listen directly to residents' voices and respond quickly. In addition, Seongnam City plans to hire more experts in urban planning and architecture to offer more professional and practical services.
The official opening ceremony for the "Bundang Reconstruction Support Center" will be held at 11:00 a.m. on November 5, and an unveiling event will also take place.
Shin Sangjin, Mayor of Seongnam, stated, "We will actively gather residents' opinions and fully mobilize our administrative capabilities to ensure the Bundang aging planned city redevelopment project proceeds without setbacks. I hope the opening of this support center will become the starting point for a new era of urban regeneration created together with residents."
