Cheolma Urban Agriculture Park Hosts Festival After Two-Year Hiatus

Gijang County in Busan will host its signature food festival, the 15th Cheolma Korean Beef Bulgogi Festival, from October 29 to November 2 at the Cheolma Urban Agriculture Park in Cheolma-myeon.

On October 28, Gijang County (Governor Jung Jongbok) announced, "This annual festival, held to widely promote the excellent taste of Cheolma Korean beef bulgogi and the value of the region's fresh agricultural and livestock products, will take place this year at the newly renovated Cheolma Urban Agriculture Park for the first time in two years."

The Cheolma Korean Beef Bulgogi Festival is organized by the Cheolma Korean Beef Bulgogi Festival Promotion Committee (Chairman Cha Wongun) and has established itself as a leading local festival in Busan, drawing tens of thousands of visitors each year.

This year's festival will feature a variety of attractions, including performances by popular singers, interactive events, and hands-on programs for children.

On the opening day, October 29, the festival will begin with a traditional ritual wishing for the event's success, followed by pre-ceremony performances and the official opening ceremony. The "I-net TV Gayo Love Concert," featuring Seol Undo, Jo Jungmin, and Yoo Jigwang, will further energize the atmosphere.

On October 30, the "Korean Beef Love Concert 1" and the "Citizen On-site Singing Contest" will take place. On October 31, the "Gori On Day" will be held in collaboration with Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power. On November 1, the "Korean Beef Sirloin Singing Contest" and "Korean Beef Love Concert 2" will follow.

On the final day, November 2, Park Gun and Na Taejoo will take the stage, concluding the festival with the "Taegun Singing Contest."

In addition, there will be citizen-participation events such as making a giant Korean beef yukhoe bibimbap, a surprise Korean beef auction, rodeo games, and a strongwoman contest for carrying a traditional A-frame carrier. There will also be hands-on experience zones for children and teenagers.

Throughout the festival grounds, photo zones featuring flower towers and large Korean beef sculptures will be set up, offering enjoyable attractions for families.

Within the venue, tasting zones will allow visitors to enjoy Korean beef at prices lower than the market rate, while a direct sales market for agricultural products will offer fresh, local produce from the Cheolma area, making this an autumn festival filled with both flavor and charm.

Chairman Cha Wongun of the festival promotion committee said, "Since the festival is being held at the newly created Cheolma Urban Agriculture Park for the first time in two years, we have prepared a wide range of programs for everyone to enjoy, regardless of age or gender. We hope many people will join us for a festival full of dance, music, and delicious food."

Governor Jung Jongbok stated, "I hope the Cheolma Korean Beef Bulgogi Festival will widely promote Cheolma's premium Korean beef and fresh agricultural products, while also serving as a venue for harmony among residents and visitors. I encourage everyone to come with their families, enjoy the finest Korean beef, and create lasting memories."
