Sahmyook University to Host Autumn Academic Conference of the Korean Career Education Association

Exploring Directions and Innovative Strategies for Career Education

Sahmyook University will host the 61st Autumn Academic Conference of the Korean Career Education Association on October 29 in the Hong Myungki Hall of the Yohan Building, under the theme "Career Education Policies Hoped for by the New Government."

This academic conference is co-hosted by Sahmyook University, the Korea Employment Information Service, and the National Youth Policy Institute, organized by the Korean Career Education Association, and sponsored by the Korea Research Institute for Vocational Education and Training.

The conference aims to explore policy directions for career education amid rapidly changing social and industrial environments, and to comprehensively discuss major issues and tasks following the inauguration of the new government.

The opening ceremony will begin with welcoming remarks from Park Wansung, President of the Korean Career Education Association and Professor at Sahmyook University's Institute for Liberal Education, followed by congratulatory addresses from Kim Yongseon, Vice President of Sahmyook University; Ko Hyewon, President of the Korea Research Institute for Vocational Education and Training; Lee Changsoo, President of the Korea Employment Information Service; and Baek Ilhyeon, President of the National Youth Policy Institute.

Next, Seo Wooseok, Professor at Gyeongin National University of Education, will deliver a keynote lecture on "Tasks for Implementing Career Education Across the Lifespan (Elementary, Secondary, University, and Adulthood)."

During the session presentations, topics will include "Measures to Enhance the 2022 Revised Curriculum" by Jung Yoonkyung, Senior Research Fellow at the Korea Research Institute for Vocational Education and Training; "Career Education Strategies for University Interdisciplinary Majors" by Kwak Miseon, Professor at Hansung University's School of Imaginative Talent; and "Career and Career Development Amid Industrial Transformation and Labor Market Changes" by Ko Jaeseong, Senior Research Fellow at the Korea Employment Information Service, followed by presentations and discussions.

In the final comprehensive discussion, presenters and panelists from each session will engage in in-depth discussions focusing on the direction and practical applicability of career education policies under the new government. The session will be chaired by President Park.
