Final 100 to Be Selected Through Online Public Voting
Participation Open Until October 31
Buyeo County's representative festivals, the Baekje Cultural Festival and the Seodong Lotus Festival, have passed the first round of the national cultural brand project "2nd Local 100," organized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Regional Culture Promotion Agency. Out of approximately 800 resources nationwide, 200 were selected, and the county was included among 12 resources from the Chungnam region, thereby demonstrating its status as a cultural city.
According to the county on October 28, "Local 100" is a national cultural project aimed at discovering unique local culture, tourism, and lifestyle resources, promoting them domestically and internationally, and thereby enhancing the region's brand value.
In this first round of screening, 200 resources were selected from about 800 recommended by 123 local governments nationwide, with Buyeo County's Baekje Cultural Festival and Seodong Lotus Festival both making the list. Both festivals were recognized as content that best represents Buyeo's historical, natural, and cultural assets.
The second round of selection will choose the final 100 through an online public vote and an in-person expert evaluation. Voting is open to everyone on the Local 100 voting website until October 31.
A county official stated, "We expect that active participation from residents will be the key to final selection," and urged, "Let us all continue to vote until the end and widely promote Buyeo's culture and charm across the country."
