Gokseong County in South Jeolla Province (Governor Jo Sangrae) held the '8th Term Election Promises and Directive Implementation Status Report Meeting' on the 27th at the county office's Communication Maru.

The meeting was attended by Governor Jo Sangrae, Deputy Governor Jeong Changmo, heads of departments, and about 20 other officials. During the meeting, participants reviewed the progress of election pledge projects, shared key issues and challenges encountered during implementation, and discussed future directions in depth.

The 8th term election pledge projects of Gokseong County consist of 40 projects across five sectors. As of the third quarter of 2025, 13 projects have been completed, while the remaining projects are proceeding as planned.

Looking at the pledges completed in the third quarter: ▲The number of public foreign seasonal workers was expanded to 60, supplying labor to 1,891 farms a total of 5,904 times in a timely manner, which greatly helped alleviate labor shortages during the busy farming season. In addition, ▲the Gokseong-style 24-hour daycare program was launched in September at Ahaetteul Daycare Center in Gokseong-eup to meet diverse childcare needs. ▲The rural demand-responsive village taxi (Hyodo Taxi) service was expanded to 57 villages in 10 towns where rural bus service is inconvenient, improving transportation convenience. Furthermore, ▲the issuance of local currency (Simcheong Gift Certificates) exceeded 20 billion won, contributing to revitalizing the local economy.

The county plans to make adjustments to certain projects that require changes due to unavoidable circumstances, after review by the Pledge Fulfillment Evaluation Committee, ensuring that the changes remain within the original intent of the pledges. For long-term projects, the county will seek solutions through close cooperation with relevant agencies.

This meeting also reviewed the progress of the governor's directives discussed in internal meetings such as weekly work briefings.

There were 54 directives issued in the third quarter, of which 43 have been completed, resulting in a 79% implementation rate. One of the key directives, ▲ensuring a full-time pediatrician, was achieved by hiring a specialist in April, and full-time pediatric services are now available. This project is operated with funds raised through the Hometown Love Donation Program and has received a positive response from residents.

In addition, the meeting checked the progress of projects in the planning or implementation stages and continued discussions on matters requiring interdepartmental cooperation.

Governor Jo emphasized, "The 8th term election pledge projects are not just promises but a process of practical action created together with the residents. Please remember this and do your best to implement them thoroughly, so that we can showcase the changing future of Gokseong."
