Eight Jazz Artist Teams and Ulleung Resident Group to Participate
Food, Experience Events... A Variety of Programs
The autumn nights of Ulleungdo will be filled with the melodies of jazz.
From November 1 to November 2, the "Ulreung Hobak Jazz Festival" will take place at the outdoor performance venue at Hyeonpo Port in Ulleung County.
This festival, held under the slogan "Hoho, Take It Lightly Like Jazz Today - Hoho, The Rhythm That Brings Happiness," has been organized as a local cultural event to add music and laughter to everyday life on the island.
Eight talented domestic jazz artist teams will participate, filling the deepening autumn nights with emotional jazz melodies. In addition, Lee Dahye, a student from Ulleung Middle School, will perform on a special stage, further highlighting the significance of connecting local youth with the arts.
Throughout the festival area, F&B booths and experiential programs centered around the unique characteristics of Ulleungdo and its pumpkins will be operated. Snacks and beverages made with local specialties, as well as warm pumpkin dishes, will be available to satisfy all five senses of the audience. There will also be an on-site experience raffle event for visitors, offering various prizes and adding to the enjoyment.
County Governor Nam Han-gwon stated, "The Ulreung Hobak Jazz Festival was prepared not just as a music festival, but as an opportunity for culture to permeate the daily lives of Ulleung residents. I hope it will be a time for islanders and visitors to laugh and connect together. We will continue to develop festivals that showcase the nature, culture, and people of Ulleung."
The festival will run from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on November 1 and 2. Against the backdrop of the open sea at Hyeonpo Port, the audience can freely sit and enjoy the jazz performances. It will be a special time to set aside the weight of everyday life and experience the music, the breeze, and the rhythm of the island.
