Financial Services Commission Holds 10th 'Financial Day' Ceremony

The Financial Services Commission announced on October 28 that it held the 10th annual 'Financial Day' ceremony at the FKI Tower in Yeouido. Financial Day is a statutory commemorative day established to raise public interest in finance and encourage those working in the financial sector.


This year, a total of 192 awards in the categories of 'Innovative Finance,' 'Inclusive Finance,' and 'Savings·Investment' were presented as part of the Financial Development Merit Awards.


The Order of Industrial Service Merit (Innovative Finance) was awarded to Jang Jeonghee, Director at the Korea Exchange, and the Order of Civil Merit, Pomegranate Medal (Inclusive Finance), was awarded to Kim Sangyong, Team Leader at Shinhan Bank. Director Jang was recognized for contributions to building infrastructure to enhance corporate value and launching an alternative trading system, while Team Leader Kim was acknowledged for providing customized consultation services for vulnerable groups and helping prevent financial fraud.


The Presidential Citation was awarded to Jeong Jiyeong, Team Leader at the Export-Import Bank of Korea in the Innovative Finance category; Kim Seongho, Deputy Manager at K Bank, and Baek Soyoon, Senior Staff at KB Kookmin Bank, in the Inclusive Finance category; and Colonel Jeong Jaehee of the Army 5th Corps in the Savings·Investment category.


The Prime Minister's Commendation was presented to Lee Hyunseung, Director of Global Impact at Good Neighbors, in the Innovative Finance category; Choi Seonyeon, Integrated Case Manager at Saha-gu Office in Busan Metropolitan City, in the Inclusive Finance category; and Kang Taehong, CEO of ATS Co., Ltd., as well as celebrities Kim Taeyeon and Jung Haein, among a total of 26 recipients in the Savings·Investment category.


The Chairman's Commendation from the Financial Services Commission was awarded to Lim Taeyoon, Director at the Kosdaq Association, and Hecto Financial in the Innovative Finance category; Kwon Eunyoung, Manager at the Korea Inclusive Finance Agency, and the Small Enterprise and Market Service in the Inclusive Finance category; and Jeong Seungmin (general public) and Yoon Jaei, Senior Researcher at the Youth Financial Education Council, among a total of 118 individuals and 6 organizations in the Savings·Investment category.


Lee Eogwon, Chairman of the Financial Services Commission, stated, "Finance and savings have actively supported the growth of our companies and successfully underpinned the economic miracle of Korea, even amid the ruins of war. Going forward, it is important for the financial sector and the government to play an even more proactive role, based on the values of trusted finance that protects the precious assets of the people, productive finance that leads and supports an innovative economy, and inclusive finance where everyone grows and advances together."
