On the 30th, President Donald Trump of the United States stated that he may sign the final agreement with Chinese President Xi Jinping regarding the sale of TikTok's U.S. operations, the Chinese video platform.

According to Reuters and Bloomberg on the 27th, President Trump told reporters aboard Air Force One en route from Malaysia to Japan that "the agreement involves separating TikTok's U.S. operations from China's ByteDance, and we have received 'provisional approval' from Chinese President Xi Jinping."

After completing his two-day visit to Japan from the 27th to the 28th, President Trump will travel to South Korea for a one-night, two-day schedule. Although he will not attend the main summit, he is scheduled to meet with President Xi Jinping, who is visiting South Korea for the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit, for talks in Busan on the 30th.

Regarding his meeting with President Xi, President Trump said, "We will have a very good conversation," expressing confidence that "the deal with President Xi will be successful."

President Trump also stated, "Canada has deceived us for a long time. We will not allow that anymore," adding, "I do not want to meet with the Canadian Prime Minister for a while." He did not disclose specific information about the timing of the additional 10% tariff, only saying, "We will let them know."

Previously, on the 25th, President Trump expressed outrage over 'anti-U.S. tariff' advertisements in Ontario and announced that he had no plans to meet with Prime Minister Trudeau. He declared his intention to suspend all trade with Canada and announced an additional 10% tariff on Canadian goods.

Meanwhile, President Trump is scheduled to hold his first U.S.-Japan summit with Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi on the 28th. Prior to this, it has been reported that arrangements are being made for a meeting with Emperor Naruhito on the 27th.
