In the interview, Mayor Lee introduced the semiconductor projects underway in Yongin, led by Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix, stating, "Yongin will become the world's largest single-city semiconductor ecosystem and emerge as a global semiconductor hub."

He also remarked, "Facilitating exchanges means exchanging and sharing information through digital technology," and expressed his view that "the development of digital technology will serve as the foundation for revitalizing tourism exchanges between Korea and Europe."

Representing Korea, which was selected as the main destination country for TIS 2025, Mayor Lee participated as the sole speaker in a session themed "A Bridge Between Korea and Europe," where he introduced tourism in Korea and Yongin for about 40 minutes.

When asked by the moderator about the secret behind the popularity of K-pop, K-dramas, and K-food, Mayor Lee responded, "Koreans are known for their dynamic and creative spirit, as they work diligently and strive to achieve something."

Mayor Lee also emphasized the convention effect resulting from the creation of the semiconductor belt. He stated, "Once the large-scale semiconductor projects are completed, Yongin will have the world's largest single-city semiconductor ecosystem." He added, "Accordingly, we are planning to establish convention facilities, hotels, and integrated transfer centers near Guseong Station, which offers convenient transportation, and we are continuously expanding the transportation network."

The city delegation also took steps to strengthen exchange and cooperation with local cities. On the day before the opening of TIS, on the 22nd, Yongin signed a friendship agreement with Seville. During the TIS event, Mayor Jose Luis Sanz of Seville was presented with a 'Cheolhwa Buncheong Ware' featuring a dragon pattern and a 'Hojakdo' painting created by members of the city's folk painting club.

At the closing ceremony held on the 24th, Mayor Lee met with Arturo Bernal, Minister of Tourism for the Andalusia region, to discuss ways to promote mutual exchange and cooperation with Andalusia and its capital, Seville.

Meanwhile, Mayor Lee and his delegation participated in TIS wearing traditional hanbok, contributing to cultural diplomacy by promoting Korea's traditions and culture. The hanbok and other items showcased at the event were selected in advance through meetings among the city's tourism, administration, women and family, and etiquette education departments. This scene was also featured in a video released through Nebext's official YouTube channel, attracting the attention of participants.
