This academic conference was hosted by the Korean Dietary Life Education Society, supported by the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs and the Dietary Life Education Support Center, under the theme "The Future Direction of Korean-Style Dietary Life Education: Field-Oriented Policy, Practice, and Media."
The event also included the "2025 Korea Dietary Life Education Awards" ceremony, recognizing individuals and organizations that have contributed to the advancement of dietary life education.
Park Ji-young, Head of the Food Service Nutrition Team, contributed to establishing safe food choices and proper food consumption behaviors by planning and operating participatory programs aimed at promoting balanced eating habits. These included activities such as "Finding Labels for Domestic Livestock Products," "Promoting the GAP (Good Agricultural Practices) Certification Mark," and "GAP System Awareness Quiz in Daily Life."
Additionally, she developed dietary education content based on intriguing topics that stimulate everyday curiosity, such as "Why Do Koreans Place Napkins Under Their Spoons?", "Meal Order That Raises Blood Sugar Less," and "Is It Okay to Eat Fruit If You Have Diabetes?" By doing so, she realized interactive and engaging nutrition education instead of rigid nutritional information, encouraging public interest and practical action in dietary life.
In recognition of her contributions to spreading a desirable dietary culture and promoting public health through these activities, Park was selected as the award recipient. She further added meaning to the award by donating the entire prize money of 300,000 won to neighbors in need of medical support through the Daedong Hospital Medical Social Work Team.
Park Ji-young, Head of the Food Service Nutrition Team at Daedong Hospital, stated, "This award is not just a personal honor, but a valuable achievement for all the members of the Food Service Nutrition Team who have worked together in the field. I believe it is thanks to the support of many who have taken an interest in dietary life. I will continue to work with a greater sense of responsibility to help establish a healthy food culture at Daedong Hospital and in our local community."
