Automatic Cashback for Mobile Payments Until November 9
1.58 Billion Won in National Funding Secured, Over 14,000 Merchants Participating
13% Discount Rate Maintained Through Year-End, Accelerating Local Consumption
Chuncheon City in Gangwon Province (Mayor Yuk Donghan) will offer a 5% cashback when paying with the Chuncheon Love Gift Certificate from October 29 to November 9 in celebration of the Korea Grand Festival.
During the event period, 5% of the payment will be automatically credited when using the mobile Chuncheon Love Gift Certificate. The city has secured 158 million won in national funding for this cashback event, and the certificate can be used at approximately 14,000 affiliated stores in the region. The event may end early if the budget is exhausted. This initiative is a local consumption revitalization project prepared by Chuncheon City in line with the government-led Korea Grand Festival.
Previously, from September to December, Chuncheon City raised the discount rate for the Chuncheon Love Gift Certificate to 13% and expanded the monthly issuance to 10 billion won, aiming to ease citizens' living expenses during the year-end and New Year season and to boost local consumption.
Gyeong Changhyeon, Director of Economic Policy, stated, "We hope this cashback will stimulate local consumption and provide tangible benefits to small business owners," and added, "We will continue to actively develop and implement various policies to revitalize the local economy."
