Dongjak District Signs "Parking Lot Opening" Agreement with Chung-Ang University

Expanding Parking Benefits Through Shared Unused Spaces

Dongjak District in Seoul (District Mayor Park Ilha) announced on the 27th that it signed an “Annex Parking Lot Opening Agreement” with Chung-Ang University on the 24th, launching a shared parking initiative for local residents and the university’s unused parking spaces. Under this agreement, a portion of the underground parking lot at Building 305 near the university’s rear gate will be open to residents and nearby office workers starting November 1.

The opening will provide a total of 25 parking spaces (5 available all day, 20 available at night). The Dongjak District Facilities Management Corporation will operate the parking lot, managing it under the resident-priority parking system. The usage fees are set at 100,000 won per month for full-day (24-hour) parking, and 30,000 won per month for weekday nights (7:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m. the next day) as well as weekends and holidays (24 hours). Residents and nearby office workers who wish to use the parking lot can apply through the Dongjak District Facilities Management Corporation website.

Earlier this year, the district collaborated with Boramae Hospital to secure an additional 20 parking spaces, actively promoting the “Annex Parking Lot Opening Support Project.” To date, a total of 447 parking spaces across 24 institutions have been made available, substantially improving parking convenience for district residents.

Park Ilha, Mayor of Dongjak District, stated, “This opening of the parking lot is a meaningful achievement through cooperation with Chung-Ang University,” adding, “We will continue to expand parking spaces to resolve everyday inconveniences for our residents.”
