Samcheok City Temporarily Raises 'Samcheok Sarang Card' Incentive to 20% in Conjunction with 'Korea Grand Festival'

Operates from October 29 to November 9
Boosting Expectations for Local Economic Vitality

Samcheok City in Gangwon Province will temporarily increase the incentive rate for the 'Samcheok Sarang Card' to 20% from October 29 to November 9, in conjunction with the government's nationwide consumption promotion event, the Korea Grand Festival.

Samcheok City Temporarily Raises 'Samcheok Sarang Card' Incentive to 20% in Conjunction with 'Korea Grand Festival' Samcheok City Hall Exterior View.

During the event, users of the Samcheok Sarang Card will receive an additional 5% on top of the existing 15% incentive, allowing for up to 200,000 won in cashback per person when spending up to 1 million won per month. However, this excludes usage by corporations, organizations, and policy subsidy payments.

The city expects this measure to minimize the outflow of local funds to other regions and to provide practical support for the recovery of small business owners' sales.

Additionally, on-site inspections will be conducted to prevent illegal distribution, with the aim of establishing a sound local currency usage culture.

A city official stated, "By offering greater benefits for using the Samcheok Sarang Card during the Korea Grand Festival, we hope to stimulate local consumption," and added, "We encourage citizens to actively participate in revitalizing the local economy."

Meanwhile, to boost the local economy through consumption promotion this year, the city has provided a total of 7.1 billion won in incentives as of the end of September, starting with a 15% incentive for the Lunar New Year holiday.
