As the onset of winter approaches and more consumers seek warmth, Joyworks & Co. announced on October 27 that its furniture brand, Lady Furniture, will launch a new product line called the "Ondam Series." This series is a premium heated furniture collection that reinterprets the warmth of natural clay with a modern sensibility. It features three products: the "Yeonon" clay bed, the "Jeongon" leather clay sofa, and the "Haewon" fabric clay sofa.
The Ondam lineup is based on the philosophy of "delivering the breath of clay as a warm rest," aiming to bring the energy of nature into healthy daily relaxation. All products in the series use 100% domestically produced mats, which are key elements of clay beds and clay sofas. Customers can choose from three types: Hwangto Ball, Three-Color Ball, and Five-Color Ball.
The Hwangto Ball mat uses the warm energy of Gyeongju hwangto (yellow soil) to help maintain body temperature and promote smooth blood circulation. The Three-Color Ball mat combines charcoal, jade, and hwangto, emitting far-infrared rays that are effective for deep sleep and fatigue recovery. The Five-Color Ball mat contains minerals and negative ions from five types of clay, including graphene, illite, medicinal clay, and white clay, which help strengthen immunity and maintain bodily balance.
The core of the Ondam Series lies in its "mat" technology, which combines artisan craftsmanship with traditional heating principles. Every step, from material selection to the final stitching, is completed by hand, resulting in a handmade product that embodies extensive expertise and dedication. This meticulous process brings out the inherent quality and deep warmth of the clay. Additionally, the structure is designed to evenly distribute heat right to the edges, ensuring no warmth is lost and minimizing heat dissipation, thereby providing stable and continuous warmth throughout.
This technology modernizes the traditional Korean ondol (underfloor heating) principle. Unlike conventional heating wires, it delivers warmth deep into the skin through the penetrating heat of far-infrared rays. The warmth provided is regarded as healthy heat, going beyond simple heating to also help improve blood circulation and aid fatigue recovery.
Furthermore, the series uses domestically produced, non-magnetic heating wires to completely block electromagnetic waves and magnetic fields. It also meets domestic and international safety standards, including radon, KC, and electromagnetic wave certifications, enhancing its reliability. The entire product line uses premium fabrics verified according to domestic and international standards, and all materials have passed tests for heat resistance, moisture resistance, durability, and the absence of harmful substances.
The Ondam Series conveys the brand’s signature calm and sophisticated mood through its simple design and warm color palette. The "Yeonon" clay bed features a soft curved frame and a cream beige color, with left and right independent heating (applied to Q size) for user convenience. The "Jeongon" leather clay sofa uses nubuck leather for enhanced durability and stain resistance, while its refined lines elevate the living room’s elegance. The "Haewon" fabric clay sofa is made with eco-friendly OEKO-TEX certified fabric, offering water resistance and scratch prevention.
To celebrate the launch of the Ondam Series, Lady Furniture will hold a special event on its official online store from November 3 to 30. During the event, all Ondam products will be offered at limited-time special prices.
