"Easy and Equitable Access for All"... Busan Transportation Corporation Overhauls Public Data Access Environment

Universal Design Introduced, Guidebook Released in Audiobook Format
Improved Accessibility for Digital Minorities

Busan Transportation Corporation (President Lee Byungjin) has significantly improved its data access environment to ensure that all citizens can easily and conveniently use public data.

The corporation announced on the 27th that it recently revamped its website, unveiling a user-friendly "Public Data Open Access" bulletin board and releasing a "Public Data Utilization Guidebook" that incorporates universal design principles.

With this update, the corporation reorganized the bulletin board to categorize the 81 types of public data currently available by topic, allowing users to directly access the data they need. This redesign enables users to find necessary information at a glance without complex navigation, thereby greatly enhancing practical data accessibility.

Additionally, to support digital minorities such as the elderly and the visually impaired, the "Public Data Utilization Guidebook" was created using large fonts and simple terminology, and was also produced in audiobook format. Anyone can download it for free from the corporation's website.

Busan Transportation Corporation has been consistently working to improve equity in information access. Since 2016, it has received the "Web Accessibility Quality Certification" from the Ministry of Science and ICT for ten consecutive years, leading the way in creating a public IT environment where all users can access information equally.

The corporation is also actively promoting the private sector's use of public data. In August, it participated as a data council for city-affiliated corporations and agencies in the global data hackathon "DIVE 2025," where it delivered keynote topics, provided data consulting, and offered mentoring. Notably, a participating team that developed a youth employment support service based on a topic proposed by the corporation won the grand prize (Busan Metropolitan City Mayor's Award).

Lee Byungjin, President of Busan Transportation Corporation, stated, "These improvements are the result of our efforts to lay the foundation for everyone to easily understand and utilize public data," adding, "We will expand data services suitable for the AI era and actively support the private sector in creating new value."
