Geochang County Holds Special Lecture on Preventing Youth Crime and School Violence

Inviting Chun Jongho, Presiding Judge at Busan District Court
"We Must Embrace Children with Hope, Not Reprimands"

Geochang County, South Gyeongsang Province, announced on the 27th that it held a special lecture at the Future Agriculture Complex Education Center of the Agricultural Technology Center, inviting Chun Jongho, the presiding judge at the Busan District Court who is well known as the "scolding judge," to speak on the theme of "Youth Crime and School Violence Prevention."


This special lecture was organized by the Geochang County Probation Office Council. More than 200 people attended, including Geochang County Mayor Koo Inmo, County Council Chairman Lee Jaewoon, Geochang Probation Office Director Kwak Seongchae, parents, students, and local residents, receiving an enthusiastic response.

During his lecture, Judge Chun Jongho emphasized, "Behind a youth's wrong choices lies loneliness," and stressed that "families and the local community must come together with hope, not reprimands, so that children can stand up again."


He also shared sincere stories of young people he met in the courtroom, delivering a powerful message to the audience: "When even one young person stands upright, society changes."


In his welcoming remarks, Mayor Koo Inmo stated, "Judge Chun is someone who embodies warm humanity behind the standards of the law. I hope today's lecture will be a meaningful time that delivers courage and hope to our children."


Under the vision of becoming a "prestigious education city where dreams unfold," Geochang County plans to continue implementing various educational support policies to help young people find and pursue their dreams and grow.


Meanwhile, the Geochang County Probation Office Council, which hosted this event, is contributing to building a healthy local community by carrying out a variety of activities for the smooth reintegration of probationers, such as employment support and living assistance, as well as for the prevention of youth crime.
