Chairman Kim Yoon: "We Must Strengthen Cash Flow-Oriented Management"
Samyang Group held a walking event with its executives and employees to reaffirm the group’s corporate purpose. Last year, to mark its 100th anniversary, Samyang Group newly announced its corporate purpose: “We unlock the potential of everyday life. We change the future of humanity.” This year, the group is emphasizing the values of change and innovation.
On October 24, to celebrate its 101st anniversary, Samyang Group held the "Purpose Walk 10.1" event at the Forest Bathing Area of Seoul Grand Park in Gwacheon, Gyeonggi Province, the company announced on the 26th. The event was attended by over 200 people, including Chairman Kim Yoon, key executives, and employees. The program began with an opening ceremony, followed by a 10.1-kilometer trek, team missions, and a ceremony commemorating the 101st anniversary.

Before the trek, Samyang set up a “Samyang Value Exhibition Wall” in the lawn plaza. The exhibition wall showcased 20 representative cases reflecting the group’s philosophy and core values since its founding. Employees were divided into 12 teams and completed a 10.1-kilometer course along themed forest trails such as “Reading Forest” and “Thinking Forest.” Along the route, they participated in missions such as speed quizzes and picture card matching games on the topics of corporate history, vision, and talent, fostering teamwork and reflecting on the corporate purpose.
In his commemorative speech, Chairman Kim Yoon said, “We must shift our portfolio to focus on global and specialty businesses to achieve product differentiation and strengthen competitiveness in global markets.” He added, “In particular, for future growth pillars such as semiconductors, batteries, personal care, and eco-friendly plastic materials, please set concrete milestones to enhance execution.” He further emphasized, “We need to strengthen cash flow-oriented management by optimizing working capital and improving profitability, and apply digital transformation (DT) as AI transformation across all work processes. Let’s create a new Samyang with the DNA of challenge and innovation.”
Meanwhile, Samyang Group holds a variety of events with employees every year on its founding anniversary. Last year, to mark its 100th anniversary, the company invited major domestic and international clients and business leaders to announce a new vision and corporate identity, and held the “New Samyang Festival” with participation from all employees.
