Gori Nuclear Power Headquarters Begins Planned Preventive Maintenance at Shin-Gori Unit 2

On October 25 at 10:00 a.m., the Gori Nuclear Power Headquarters of Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power (Director: Lee Sangwook) halted operations at Shin-Gori Unit 2 (pressurized water reactor, 1 million kW class) to replace fuel and inspect major equipment, commencing planned preventive maintenance.

During this planned preventive maintenance period, which will continue until November 30, the Gori Nuclear Power Headquarters will conduct fuel removal and reloading, high-pressure turbine disassembly and inspection, emergency diesel generator (EDG) and auxiliary system inspections, as well as statutory inspections in accordance with the Nuclear Safety Act and the Electric Utility Act. The headquarters will also carry out inspections and improvements of major equipment systems to enhance the reliability of the nuclear power plant.
