This amendment focuses on supplementing the existing ordinance to align with higher-level laws and strengthening support regulations that were previously insufficient compared to other local governments, thereby providing more systematic backing for women entrepreneurs in Gumi City.

In his explanation of the proposal, Councilor Kim Chunnam stated, "This amendment aims to address weaknesses such as external networking, where women entrepreneurs may be more vulnerable than their male counterparts, and to further strengthen support for women entrepreneurs so that Gumi City, the only city in North Gyeongsang Province with such an ordinance, can live up to its reputation as a women-friendly city."
Additionally, Councilor Kim emphasized the need to instill pride among women in business, improve awareness, and promote women entrepreneurs through commemorative events for the "Women Entrepreneurs Week" as stipulated by higher-level laws.
In particular, to promote women-led startups, he proposed new initiatives such as preferential admission to startup support facilities or the establishment of nurturing spaces, expressing high expectations for fostering women entrepreneurs through this ordinance amendment.
With this amendment, Gumi City has established an institutional foundation for effective support policies for women entrepreneurs, which is expected to contribute to revitalizing the local economy and achieving gender equality.
