The Gumi City Council in North Gyeongsang Province (Chairman Park Kyosang) concluded the 291st Special Session of the Gumi City Council on the 24th with the second plenary session, which began on the 15th.
Prior to the plenary session, Assemblyman Kim Youngtae delivered a five-minute free speech, urging Gumi City to take a proactive and responsible approach regarding the "stalled private park development project at Kkotdongsan" and called for responsible countermeasures from the city.
During the second plenary session, a total of 52 agenda items were handled, including eight ordinance bills proposed by assembly members and reviewed by standing committees, as well as ordinance bills submitted by the executive branch.
The Industrial and Construction Committee visited the modernization project site for the vegetable section at the Gumi Agricultural Wholesale Market, which is currently undergoing detailed design, to listen to updates and raise questions about pending issues. The Culture and Environment Committee conducted a comparative field study at the Songam Sports Town Air Dome in Chuncheon to explore directions for Gumi City's own air dome development project.
In addition, during this special session, each standing committee received reports on the major work plans for 2026.
During the reporting process, assembly members engaged in in-depth legislative activities by identifying problems and providing direction for the major plans.
Chairman Park Kyosang expressed his gratitude to the 25 assembly members and public officials from the executive branch for their passionate legislative activities, which included in-depth discussions and debates on over 50 agenda items such as ordinance bills, consent bills, and reports. He also wished everyone good health during this period of large temperature fluctuations.
