Wonju City in Gangwon Province held an "Investment Attraction Company Meeting" at City Hall on the 24th to listen to on-site opinions from companies investing during the 8th term of the elected administration and to create a business-friendly city.

More than 20 representatives and officials from investment companies in various fields, including semiconductors, biotechnology, advanced materials, and food, attended the meeting to share the progress of their investments and to voice suggestions and difficulties.
In particular, there were in-depth discussions on practical issues and solutions, including △ cultivating and supporting the recruitment of professional talent, △ expanding investment subsidies, and △ improving living conditions.
To support stable investment and settlement by companies, Wonju City has been implementing a variety of customized support policies, such as operating a dedicated project manager (PM) system for companies, strengthening post-investment management, and streamlining administrative approval procedures. The city has also established a new Economic Affairs Bureau and an Investment Promotion Division, as well as a dedicated organization for attracting companies, in its active efforts to attract investment.
As a result, the city has signed investment agreements worth a total of 860 billion won with 36 companies, which is expected to create around 1,800 jobs.
Won Kangsoo, Mayor of Wonju, stated, "This meeting was a meaningful opportunity to hear the vivid voices from the business field and to review our policy direction," adding, "We will concentrate our efforts to make Wonju a city where companies want to invest and workers want to stay."
