LS Cable & System Handles Manufacturing, Buildwin and Marine Solution Oversee Installation
Part of Singapore's Power Grid Expansion Initiative
Consecutive Project Wins in Singapore and Taiwan
LS Marine Solution announced on October 24 that its subsidiary, LS Buildwin, will carry out an underground extra-high voltage power grid project worth approximately 80 billion KRW (about 60 million USD) in Singapore.
This contract is a representative overseas project based on the collaboration between LS Cable & System and LS Buildwin. The project involves the construction of a 230kV-class underground power grid, for which LS Cable & System has been awarded the main contract, and LS Buildwin will be responsible for the entire cable installation process. This is part of Singapore's national power grid expansion initiative, which is being promoted to address the rapidly increasing power demand from artificial intelligence (AI) and data centers.
LS Cable & System is in charge of cable manufacturing, while LS Buildwin and LS Marine Solution are responsible for underground and subsea installation, respectively. The three companies are strengthening their global competitiveness through a "manufacturing-installation value chain."
LS Marine Solution currently holds an order backlog of approximately 700 billion KRW, securing a workload equivalent to five times last year's revenue. The company has been enhancing its installation capabilities by consecutively winning new projects in the Asian power infrastructure markets, including Singapore and Taiwan.
A company representative stated, "LS Marine Solution is the only domestic company specializing in subsea and underground cable installation, and we are enhancing our integrated installation competitiveness through collaboration with LS Cable & System," adding, "We will continue to pursue technology-driven growth in the global market."
