Chairman Dongki Kim of Highland Donates 30 Million KRW to Support Social Welfare Projects in Sunchang County

The Gwangju Community Chest of Korea (hereinafter referred to as Gwangju Sarangui Yeolmae) announced on October 24 that Dongki Kim, Chairman of Highland Co., Ltd., had donated 30 million KRW to support social welfare projects in Sunchang County.

The donation ceremony, held on the afternoon of October 22 at the Sunchang County Office in the governor's office, was attended by Dongki Kim, Chairman of Highland, Yeongil Choi, Governor of Sunchang County, Heungcheol Park, Secretary General of Gwangju Sarangui Yeolmae, and other related officials.

The donated funds will be fully used to support social welfare projects promoted by Sunchang County. The support will be provided either as living expenses for vulnerable groups with incomes at or below 100% of the median income, or as operational support for social welfare facilities, institutions, and organizations. This is expected to provide tangible help to neighbors in need within the region.

The donation will be delivered through the Gwangju Community Chest of Korea in the form of a designated contribution and will be used for various projects aimed at improving social welfare in Sunchang County.

Chairman Dongki Kim stated, "I want to be of some help to neighbors in need within the local community," adding, "I will continue to contribute to building a warm local community by practicing sharing."

Yeongil Choi, Governor of Sunchang County, expressed his gratitude, saying, "I sincerely thank Chairman Dongki Kim for his warm donation. The donated funds will be used transparently and fairly, and we will do our utmost to eliminate welfare blind spots."

Meanwhile, Chairman Dongki Kim also serves as CEO of Highland Co., Ltd. and Hainuri Co., Ltd., Vice President of the Korea Real Estate Development Association, and a distinguished professor in the Department of Urban Planning and Real Estate at Gwangju University. As the 138th member of the Gwangju Honor Society, a group of individual major donors who have contributed over 100 million KRW, he is also taking the lead in social sharing activities.
