Korea Forest Service Predicts Peak Foliage From Late October to Early November
Hotels and Resorts Launch Autumn Packages and Foliage Festivals
As autumn foliage reaches its peak at major tourist destinations across the country in late October, hotels, resorts, and other major accommodation providers nationwide are bustling as they welcome visitors and travelers.
According to the 2025 Autumn Foliage Peak Prediction Map released by the Korea Forest Service on October 25, Seoraksan Mountain in Gangwon Province-a popular destination for tourists-is expected to see its autumn leaves reach their peak this weekend. The Korea Forest Service defines the peak as the time when 80% of the mountain is covered in autumn colors.

Yongmunsan Mountain in Yangpyeong, Gyeonggi Province, is also expected to reach its peak foliage on Saturday, October 26. In the Gyeonggi region, the autumn leaves at the National Arboretum in Pocheon are forecast to peak on October 29. In the Chungcheong region, Songnisan Mountain is expected to peak on October 27, and Gyeryongsan Mountain on October 30. In the Gyeongsang region, Palgongsan Mountain in Daegu is predicted to reach its peak on November 2, and the Gyeongnam Arboretum on November 6.
In the Jeolla region, Wolchulsan Mountain is expected to reach its peak on November 4, and Naejangsan Mountain on November 6. On Jeju Island, the peak foliage date for Hallasan Mountain is predicted to be November 4.
The hotel and resort industry is introducing package deals and outdoor events linked to the autumn foliage in an effort to attract tourists. For example, Sono International of Daemyung Sono Group is currently offering a package at Sono Belle Cheongsong that includes trekking at Juwangsan Mountain and relaxing in an open-air hot spring, timed to coincide with the peak foliage season. The package, available until November 30, includes a one-night stay at Sono Belle Cheongsong, a trekking snack set, a foldable hiking chair, two Solsaem Hot Spring tickets, and four 20% discount coupons for the breakfast buffet. Juwangsan Mountain, along with Seoraksan and Wolchulsan, is known as one of Korea's three major rocky mountains and is considered a prime autumn foliage destination through November.
Shilla Stay, the business hotel brand of Hotel Shilla, has launched the 'Autumn Adventure Stay' package, which provides seasonal goods needed for outdoor activities such as foliage viewing, festivals, and camping. Available until November 30, this package includes a one-night stay and a set of Shilla Stay camping chairs (two chairs per set).
At Hwadam Forest in Konjiam Resort, Gwangju, Gyeonggi Province, an autumn foliage festival will be held until November 16. During the event, visitors can view over 400 varieties of maple trees, including Acer pseudosieboldianum, Acer palmatum, Acer pictum, Acer mono, and Acer buergerianum. Admission is limited to about 1,000 people per hour, with a daily cap of 10,000 visitors. Both Hwadam Forest entry and monorail rides require advance online reservations.
In addition, Eland Park's Kensington Hotel & Resort is holding a special autumn foliage exhibition at major locations nationwide until November 30. The event includes three Kensington Hotels (Seorak, Pyeongchang, and Kent Hotel Gwangalli by Kensington) and seven Kensington Resorts (Seorak Valley, Seorak Beach, Gapyeong, Jirisan Hadong, Jirisan Namwon, Jeju Jungmun, and Seogwipo). The package includes a one-night stay, breakfast buffet for two, and admission tickets to tourist attractions for two. Depending on the location, additional benefits such as facility vouchers and late check-out are also provided.
