This on-site visit was part of a program designed to share sustainable urban development models among Olympic host cities, under the theme, "How do Olympic host cities manage and develop legacy facilities after the Games?"
The delegations toured major facilities in succession, including the Ski Jumping Center, Sliding Center, and Pyeongchang Olympic Memorial Hall in Pyeongchang, as well as the Ice Arena, Hockey Center, and Curling Center in Gangneung. They confirmed firsthand that the Pyeongchang Olympic venues, now marking their seventh anniversary, have been well maintained and managed to a standard capable of hosting international competitions.
In particular, the tour concluded at the newly established Pyeongchang Olympic Plaza, which is set to officially open on November 1, with a media facade video titled "The Glory of 2018 Continues into the Future."
Shim Jaeguk, Mayor of Pyeongchang County, stated, "After the Olympics, Pyeongchang has grown beyond a city that simply maintains its stadiums and is now creating new value in these spaces. We will continue to do our utmost to establish Pyeongchang as a city that sets new standards for Olympic legacy."
