This trip was a one-night, two-day charter train package departing from Gwangju Metropolitan City and ending in Donghae City. The train featured a variety of attractions, including retro-themed events, performances in each carriage, and a snack bar, all of which were met with an enthusiastic response from participants.
The itinerary included Donghae City's major tourist destinations such as Dojwaebigol Sky Valley, Mangsang Beach, Chuam Beach, and Cheongok Golden Bat Cave, offering visitors a rich and diverse experience.
On this day, more than 500 tourists gathered at Dojwaebigol Sky Valley, creating a lively atmosphere and positively impacting the local economy. Dojwaebigol Sky Valley has been selected as one of Korea's Top 100 Tourist Attractions for four consecutive years and, as of September this year, has surpassed a cumulative total of 1.8 million visitors.
This charter train visit is considered the result of ongoing exchanges between the Donghae Culture and Tourism Foundation and the Gwangju Metropolitan City Tourism Association. In May, the foundation hosted a familiarization tour for travel industry representatives from Jeonnam and Gwangju, and in July, it held a tourism promotion briefing to showcase Donghae City's tourism resources and stay-type content.
A representative from the Donghae Culture and Tourism Foundation stated, "The foundation's consistent promotional and exchange activities have led to the actual attraction of tourists," adding, "We will continue to actively promote Donghae as a tourist destination."
Additionally, on the 31st, another charter tourist train visit is scheduled for group tourists from the Gwangju area, which is expected to further energize the entire city of Donghae.
