Gimhae Community Unites to Support Vulnerable Youth... Launch of 'Integrated Employment Network' The Yangsan Branch of the Ministry of Employment and Labor and 14 other organizations are signing a business agreement for the Integrated Employment Network.

This agreement marks the first step toward building a collaborative system that supports vulnerable youth in an integrated manner by bringing together various local organizations to provide employment, welfare, education, and counseling services.

In addition to the Yangsan Branch of the Ministry of Employment and Labor, a total of 14 organizations participated in the agreement, including Gimhae City, Gimhae Office of Education, Gimhae Research Institute, Gimhae Biomedical Industry Promotion Agency, Gyeongnam Employers’ Federation, Gimhae Out-of-School Youth Support Center, Gimhae Mental Health Welfare Center, Gimhae Youth Center Daom, Youth Community Center, Gyeongsangnam-do Self-Reliance Support Agency, Inje University, Kaya University, and Gimhae University.

Following a discussion on directions for cooperation at a meeting in September, these organizations have now established a full-fledged joint response system through this agreement. The main areas of cooperation include: ▲ comprehensive identification of vulnerable youth through community collaboration; ▲ support for psychological, emotional, and social recovery; ▲ establishment of customized employment and self-reliance support systems; and ▲ promotion of inter-agency linkage and cooperation programs.

This network is especially significant as an integrated approach model targeting a wide range of vulnerable youth, such as 'youth who are simply resting,' 'youth who have given up on job-seeking,' 'isolated or reclusive youth,' and 'youth preparing for independence.' By moving away from individual project-based operations and connecting the resources of each organization, it is expected that more detailed and sustainable support will become possible.

Kwon Kuhyung, head of the Yangsan Branch, emphasized, "This agreement is a practical starting point for the local community to work together to address youth employment issues," adding, "By integrating fragmented services between organizations, we will become a solid stepping stone for vulnerable youth to re-enter society."

The launch of this integrated network is seen as a signal that youth support policies in the Gimhae region are shifting from quantitative expansion to qualitative integration. The structure in which the entire community takes joint responsibility for the recovery and independence of young people has now begun to operate in earnest.
