Gyeonggi Province Sees Decline in Surveying Company Violations... 52 Cases Uncovered This Year

The Gyeonggi Provincial Government has uncovered 52 surveying companies in the province that committed illegal acts.


On October 24, the Gyeonggi Provincial Government announced that, in order to provide sound surveying services to residents, it conducted guidance and inspections of 1,267 surveying companies in the province from June to October, and identified violations at 52 of them.


The most common type of violation was delayed performance inspections of surveying equipment, accounting for 24 cases. This was followed by five cases of failing to meet the technical personnel registration requirements, and 18 cases of delayed change notifications.


Violations of regulations related to surveying companies have shown a steady decline each year, from 96 cases in 2023, to 58 cases in 2024, and 52 cases this year.

The Gyeonggi Provincial Government believes that its regular annual guidance and inspections have had a positive effect on raising awareness of regulatory compliance within the surveying industry.


The provincial government plans to take administrative action against the companies found to have committed violations, in accordance with relevant regulations.


Companies that failed to meet technical personnel standards will undergo registration cancellation procedures, while those that delayed change notifications or performance inspections will be fined.


Kim Yongjae, Director of the Land Information Division at the Gyeonggi Provincial Government, stated, "Through continuous annual inspections and guidance, awareness of regulatory compliance among surveying companies is improving. Going forward, we will strengthen cooperation with cities and counties to eradicate illegal operations by unregistered surveying companies, and will do our utmost to provide accurate information by keeping the surveying company database on the Gyeonggi Real Estate Portal up to date."
