"Jeonggwan Dolphin Street Dances Again!"... Busan Gijang County 'Opening Festa' Kicks Off on the 24th

Three-Day Festival at Jwagwangcheon Provincial Garden Area
Merchant-Led Celebration for Revitalizing the Local Business District

Gijang County in Busan announced that the "2025 Busan Sale Festa, Jeonggwan Dolphin Street Opening Festa" will be held in Jeonggwan from October 24 to 26, 2025.

The event will take place in the area around Witgoll Park in Jwagwangcheon Provincial Garden and Jeonggwan 7-8-ro, featuring a variety of performances, food stalls, and hands-on programs for families, friends, and couples to enjoy. For three days, the revitalized streets will host a festival where visitors can create special memories.

This event, aimed at breathing new life into the business district around Jeonggwan Dolphin Fountain Square, which had stagnated after COVID-19, is hosted by Busan Metropolitan City and organized by the Busan Economic Promotion Agency and the Jeonggwan Dolphin Planning Cooperative Association.

With the theme "Revitalizing the Central Business District of Jeonggwan-eup," the festival is significant as it introduces the new business district name "Jeonggwan Dolphin Street" and is a "merchant-led consumer festival" where local merchants plan and invite residents themselves. Rather than a simple sales event, it is designed as a platform for the local community to lead the recovery of their own business district.

During the festival, the main stage at Witgoll Park in Jwagwangcheon will host a naming ceremony for the business district, jazz performances, bubble and magic shows, ocarina performances, and other diverse stage events.

The "Dolphin Playground," designed for children and families, will offer interactive programs such as the Dolphin Family Entertainment Center, slogan quizzes, a resident-participation singing contest, and laser survival games, encouraging active participation from local residents.

The highlight of this festival is the "Traveling Dolphin Band." The band will visit over 80 local stores, staging guerrilla-style "snack concerts" to provide consumers with cultural experiences in their daily lives. Every alley will transform into a stage, allowing visitors to encounter music and laughter anywhere they go.

Additionally, various benefits will be available for customers visiting Dolphin Street stores during the festival, including up to 50% discount coupons, complimentary coupons for first-time customers, and store-specific discount events. Events inspired by the "dolphin" theme, the symbol of the festival, will be held throughout the area, transforming the entire business district into a themed street.

County Governor Jeong Jongbok stated, "The Jeonggwan Dolphin Street Opening Festa is particularly meaningful as it is planned and led directly by local merchants," adding, "I hope this festival will serve as a turning point for revitalizing the central business district of Jeonggwan, bringing renewed energy and fostering a local economy where both residents and merchants can smile together."
