National Gugak Orchestra Special Performance
All Seats Priced at 10,000 Won
Buan County in North Jeolla Province announced on October 23 that it will hold a performance of "Knock Cinema" at the Buan Arts Center on November 5 at 7:30 p.m.
The Buan Arts Center has secured a performance by the National Gugak Orchestra, which faced the fiercest competition among the three resident troupes of the National Theater of Korea, in order to present outstanding repertoire works from the regional cultural hub performance project at the local venue.
"Knock Cinema" is a signature performance by the National Gugak Orchestra, an orchestra composed of traditional Korean instruments that creates contemporary music and moves audiences worldwide with its high-quality performances. This new form of film music concert combines live performances on traditional Korean instruments with film screenings.
This performance will reinterpret and present famous songs from classic films such as the Charlie Chaplin series, Roman Holiday, and Breakfast at Tiffany's with a Korean traditional music twist.
An official from the county stated, "Through this performance, we aim to provide a unique experience that sets itself apart from conventional Korean traditional music concerts. We expect it to serve as a central force in the development of culture and the arts in Buan, and to lead to ongoing cultural exchanges through collaboration with the National Theater of Korea."
Tickets for the performance can be reserved starting at 9 a.m. on October 28 through Ticketlink or by visiting the Buan Arts Center. All seats are priced at 10,000 won (1,000 won for Buan residents). For further information, please contact the Buan Arts Center.
